History of the White family
GENERAL INFORMATION ON WHITE BROTHERS DAIRY
Myron and Dale White began milking in Davis County, Iowa in 1957, along with their father, Alva, when they moved from Illinois in 1952. The brothers took over the entire operation in 1971. Their wives, Sue & Jackie, soon became involved in not only the milking, but the farming operation as well. The White Brothers had one of the top dairy herds in the entire midwest with Alva being instrumental in forming the Davis County DHIA in the early 60s. They continued to improve their herd over the years by using top AI sires (their herd was 100% AI sired and no cows were brought into the herd since 1959). They won countless awards for dairy production, as well as crop yields, as you’ll see by the plaques on the walls of their office.
Myron and Dale are on schedule for this multi-phase closeout which included the dispersal of the cow herd in early '08, we conducted an auction in March '09 which included the feeding equipment and smaller tractors. The sale of this farm is another phase of this carefully and well thought out plan. Be watching for the final phase which will include the dispersal of all of their larger JD tractors, hay equipment, tillage equipment, etc. which will be conducted later this fall after the sale of the farm.
It is with great honor we offer this farm from this highly respected family.
