For generations, the Lee and Nevaleen Selmat farm has been built on hard work, pride, and taking care of both people and equipment. Dating back to the 1920s, the family’s farming roots run deep in Grant County, with decades spent building a respected farming and cattle operation. The Selmats were known not only for maintaining quality equipment, but also for the way they treated the people who worked alongside them.

Longtime employees Jason Shocky and Doug Zean spoke about the family atmosphere on the farm and the opportunities Lee and Nevaleen provided over the years. Jason, who spent nearly 35 years working on the operation, credits the Selmats with helping him get started in his own hay business and says the farm was always built around respect, loyalty, and doing things the right way.

That same pride carried over into the equipment lineup. Everything possible was kept shedded, routinely serviced, and carefully maintained. The tractors received yearly inspections and servicing through the John Deere dealership, and the entire crew took pride in always keeping the machinery field ready. The lineup also carries a lifetime of memories, from the dependable C60 grain trucks to the impressive John Deere tractors and combines that became staples of the operation. Employees described the equipment as some of the nicest they had ever operated and said it was always treated with care and respect.

As retirement approaches, the Selmat family is proud to offer a clean, well-maintained lineup of equipment that reflects generations of hard work, careful ownership, and the people who helped build the operation along the way.
